Annan Juvenile Pipes & Drums

Way back in April 2007 we were invited to take part in a concert at Carlisle Cathedral that had been organised by Trinity School, Carlisle, and Dover High School, New Hampshire (USA) and was entitled 'Combined Bands In Concert'. We were asked to accompany them in playing the well known tune of Highland Cathedral and also to play a few tunes of our own.

As a result of this concert, Trinity School have been invited to America and Dover High School has asked the band if we would also like to accompany them. The trip will take place 21st - 31st October 2009. When we are in America we will be taking part in at least two concerts with Trinity and Dover schools and hope to have the chance to compete in a piping competition. The band will also be attending some educational visits too.

This is a very big step for us to take but an opportunity we feel cannot be missed by our youngsters. We know that we will have to work hard to raise the necessary funding to take us to America and many events have been set-up to hopefully achieve this.

Planning is well underway in organising this big trip

We thank everyone who has helped us so far, be it giving us grants, helping at Coffee Mornings, giving money for bag-packing etc - every little helps.
