(1) How old were you when you started playing

About 11 years old. A bit later than ideal

(2) What made you start?
Started with my mates. Yes I have them. It was great fun
and we had a good laugh and carry on .

(3) What are your greatest influences on life?
Scotland and its culture. Clyde the famous cup winners.
Piping music and pipe bands. Better mention the family and friends.

(4) What music do you listen to, other than piping music?
Got a wide taste of musical appreciation. Brought up with the 60's revolution an exciting change to tradition and still enjoy the sounds. Can enjoy most music with a steady beat( as mike will tell you?). Don't like reggie or extreme rock or classical rock. Depending on music interpretation will listen to vocal or instrumental classical or pop

(5) Do you play any other musical instruments?
Never felt the urge. My dad played the piano, my oldest brother the guitar, and uncle the accordian.

(6) Funniest time in your drumming / piping experiences was....?
Can laugh now but at Cowel one year for the solo's on a friday and several of us staying overnight in the Band tent. There was a storm during the night. I fell asleep and I woke alone in the middle of the night with the tent blown down and soaked. We had so many good times it is difficult to choose as we were used to winning we seemed to float through life then.

(7) What is your most favourite possession?
Walking stick now a necessity. Seriously the friendships in the band and how we have matured since the USA trip. An experience not to be missed and very special. I think it is more important than material possessions.

(8) Do you have a best comedian or act?
Yes, Laurel & Hardie. Emm can be good and as for Daniel a hoot at times.

(9) Do you wear lucky underwear when playing in your kilt?
Joyce's Christmas Present but she wont give me them back

(10) Finally, if you could have a super power, what would it be?
ESP - A Necessity reading people's minds / 6th sense
